I have always, from the earliest memories I can conjure, wanted to be a writer. The majority of my decisions in life have been guided by this desire, a passion for written word and an affinity for textual creativity. Through all my cyclical passion projects writing has been a constant feature. I always thought that I’d write a book (which there is still plenty of time to do, of course) and it wasn’t until recently that I decided, I must admit—on a whim—to create a blog.

My intentions with this website are rather simple: to share my writing and inspire myself to write more. It isn’t about monetization nor about fame, I just want to give myself something tangible, something that I can look back on and say to myself “Yeah, I did that“. In fact, I have rather low expectations for the success of this blog other than perhaps a few friends who might want to check up on what I’ve been writing. I’m satisfied with that thought. It’s like having a diary that anyone can access, that I paid for, and that I’ll have to renew to own again in a year. Fun!

Going into this, dear reader, whoever you happen to be, if you happen to be, please do not expect this blog to be in any part professional, esteemed, organized, or even functional most of the time. I’m having fun with it. Letting loose and allowing myself the space to do what I love. Expect a menagerie of topics in a variety of genres. Most of all, I hope you enjoy your little piece of myself; this blog is titled “It’s Nice To Have A Friend” because that’s just the amount of comfort I aim to provide.
